I’ll skip directly to the deal on this one since that is what most of you are wanting to know anyway.
THE DEAL:
This project focuses on the color blue and the style of traditional American tattoo art.
Your tattoo must be neotraditional or traditional in style and must be predominately done in blues to qualify.
It must also not be within two inches of any existing tattoos you may have unless they are done in a neotraditional or traditional american tattoo style.
If your tattoo falls within the criteria the deal is this…
Pricing will be between 75% to 25% of my normal rates.
In other words what once was a $300. tattoo will fall someplace between $75. and $225.
Please note that I will still have a $50. minimum for this project. In other words if your tattoo would normally cost $100. and falls within the 75% off range you can not get it for $25. It will be $50.
I will be doing custom artwork and existing pieces for this project.
If you have an idea of something and need it created in this style I am all about drawing it up.
If you have found a cool bit of traditional american tattoo flash I am all about doing that too. Working off of other artists flash (designs) is actually part of what traditional American tattooing is about. I can do it as is, I can modify, I can re-draw it completely. It is all good for this project.
If you need inspiration I suggest looking up terms like these:
traditional tattoos, american traditional tattoos, neotraditional tattoos, traditional tattoo designs, traditional tattoo flash, oldschool tattoo flash, oldschool tattoo designs, old school tattoo designs, old school flash, traditional flash, etc…
Ad your special subject matter to those terms to narrow it down.
Note that the design you find need not have a ton of blue. We can make it blue.
How your discount is figured out is based on a few factors. Basically the subject matter, amount of blue vs other colors, placement on the body, size to canvas ratio, and what I like to call visual interest factor.
Visual interest factor is basically this… A simple blue rose or a blue diamond are both traditional tattoos. They qualify for the project because of that and will automatically garner a 25% off price just because of that. They have a low visual interest factor though. A simple blue rose with a diamond in it has a slightly higher interest factor. Give that diamond wings while it is poking out of that rose and the interest factor rises some more. Higher visual interest factor will equal a better deal.
The catch…
For this project I have no other weird rules besides those stated above except for my usual project photo rules.
If you are not familiar with my projects, my photo deal is this…
There is an extra photo deposit. It is in general $50. It may be higher for multi-session tattoos.
You get this deposit back if you show up for your tattoo photos when specified.
When specified is the very next day after you get tattooed and at an agreed upon date between 4 and 6 weeks after you get your tattoo.
I build albums of my projects for my personal enjoyment via this method. Without your photos I may as well never done the project. The photos are what I get out of this.
So, in a nutshell:
Tattoos of traditional / neotraditional style predominately done with blues with discounts on price ranging from 25% to 75% depending on the piece and you must get a picture taken after.
If you are digg’n it I suggest rounding up any reference materials for what you are wanting to get and bring them in to me at Electric Beach Salon – 117 North Oak Street in downtown Port Angeles.
I am usually there between 11:30 and 5:30 weekdays and till 3:30 on Saturdays.
Appointment times are slightly more limited on this project than my usual schedule simply because I have a family to feed and the discounted prices for this project will bring me below minimum wage in many cases. I’m sure you all can understand that. Regular (non project) appointments must take precedents.
This project has no particular end date. I will conclude it when I feel done with it.
