This painting was a fun, fast, and furious creation.
Well… maybe not super fast, but it seemed like it was.
I was working on another painting of a completely different nature in both style and subject matter when the vision came to me.
I took a break from my work and sketched it out first on the back of an envelope.
I liked it so much I grabbed some actual sketch paper and sketched out a more finished looking and complete image.
The thing was so pimp style I just had to do it.
My other painting fell to the wayside as I grabbed a canvas and sketched it out once more.
Not one design mistake.
The sketch on canvas was beauty itself and needed no modifications.
It was about 11:pm when I started it.
It was 3:30 in the morning when I finally took a break from it for sleep.
Work in the morning and having stayed up till 5:am the night before was the only reason I stopped.
The next night I waited till all had retired in my home before attacking it again.
The flesh tones didn’t give me the feeling I wanted so I painted over them (basically doing the figures twice)
I stared at the work once complete for a good half an hour.
I found a few areas that needed some love. Mostly cleanup on my line work.
Mmmm, I liked.
I was done.
It was 4:30 am.
The next morning I put a thin layer of mat medium over the entire painting to give it a bit of leveling.
Then that evening a layer of gel medium mixed with water done very thin to give it some more leveling and an even constancy.
I had to wait until the next night to add a layer of varnish.
I used a thin gloss varnish.
