There are moments in time we often think back on and find beauty in them.
There are also moments in time we missed out on, but know should have existed because others got to experience them. We pine for such moments. We dream of them. Doesn’t matter if it is a memory or a fantasy… we want those moments.
“In The Daisies.”
That is the title of this one…
I was going for one of those moments in this painting.
My original idea was to capture a bit of that fresh spring love.
The innocent romance and exploration of yesteryear. As I worked on this painting it escaped me. It became a bit more than my original intention. Summer love, spring romance, first kisses , and exploration are all there, but I also captured something that goes even a bit deeper. It is what I subconsciously wanted I think. It was renewal of that feeling. The feeling that as years go by become more of an idea than a feeling.
In looking back through time I can almost, but not quite put my fingers on those moments. I think those moments are just a fantasy maybe. I’m not sure they existed anyplace outside my mind.
For a moment though… real or imaginary, I brought those feelings up to the surface while I painted this. I found some beauty.
If this painting brings that feeling, those thoughts, those memories or daydreams to others… for even one second… I will have done so much.
The title is “in the daisies”
This paintings is just 11″ x 14″ on stretched canvas.
