Title = Fighting The Thoughts
I made a post called ‘Bad Voices‘ a few days back which featured a black and white image I made from this painting along with a tiny 34 word poem.
When posting the image I referenced the painting (the one above) and realized I had better post it too.
So… here it is, and yes it is about fighting the thoughts in one’s own head.
The actual painting measures 18″ wide x 24″ high and is on stretched canvas.
I had painted the base coat and done a basic sketch of the figure a couple months back and then set it to dry before actually tackling the figure.
The painting then just sat like that without being touched until I had the proper mindset to hit my canvas with a brush again.
I wanted to do an expressive piece that had beauty and light in it while still showing the darkness, loneliness, frustration, etc… that needed to be portrayed to have it truly represent the state that can be found inside the mind when one has bad thoughts and can’t shut them up.
I waited until I had that right mindset and then painted quickly, allowing the paintbrush to tell the feelings in the figure on their own.
You can get prints of this painting HERE.
