O, be some other name!
What’s in a name? that which we call a Zombie Doll
By any other name would feed on a soul;
Juliet Act II, Scene II, you know the play.
Usually people just say “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” in reference to that line, but it isn’t really how it goes so I wasn’t able to misquote it with “A Zombie Doll by any other name would be as wicked” or something similar.
Anyways… This one has no title.
She was painted in 2004, and on the back I had written this bit of fun:
“You can sometimes tell without knowing why… that she tells lies”
Once again I was getting a bit to deep for my own good. Art therapy though, and maybe a bit of clairvoyance, but that is another story.
This doll without a name was painted with acrylics.
On my remix I didn’t do as much as usual.
It is very similar to the original.
I find it an improvement overall though in regard to how I feel about the personage and history of the real life person this painting represents.
Here it is.
Basically it is a case of textural and tonal changes via Photoshop. Subtle, but effective. I like it.
You can get super small prints or cards of the original painting HERE.
