So this is the entire quote…
“I’m not funny. My writers were funny. My direction was funny. I am not funny. What I am is brave.”
A zillion sorts of comedy exist, but really when you think of physical comedy and women this gal was the queen and she paved the way for all the others.
So this little painting is just 12″ x 12″ and done in acrylic.
My whole household are I Love Lucy fans so I am surprised something like this didn’t come around sooner.
It was talking with my daughter that inspired this little acrylic painting.
She had gotten seriously upset because she was laughed at for something and we had a big discussion about what is and isn’t funny. We talked about how you must be willing and even dig on the idea of being laughed at sometimes if you wish to succeed in the arts. (She dances, sings, draws, writes, and more) We talked about failure, and we talked about bravery.
This quote came to mind because it fit. I told my daughter and she liked the idea because she loves Lucy.
A small painting was born!
