Another ballet themed painting from yours truly.
This one is 16″ wide x 20″ high.
When I stated it I was thinking of a teacher and pupil. The teacher being an amazing ballerina herself, but the student through diligence surpassing the level of the teacher which gave the teacher great pride.
About a quarter of the way through I kinda lost that vibe and was thinking more about the massive amounts of practice in itself that goes with perfecting oneself and becoming a great ballerina. The dedication and persistence was my focus.
For a while it became an idea of two students who loved dance and how they pushed each other in a competitive manner. Then it slid back to a teacher and student idea, but I was thinking mother and daughter at the same time. I guess it was a generational type idea.
What great artist doesn’t want his or her student to excel and surpass their own skills?
Ballet to me is art. It is art in motion that requires a mastery only achieved from many hours of dedication to the learning and act itself.
I feel that ballet is the closest for of movement to the act of creating a painting.
With this one I let the paint move me and my ideas flow as to what I wanted to say so much that I ended up saying a bit less than I intended and a bit more all at once.
By the time I finished I was left wondering as any other viewer would be about what was happening. I like that. It was like looking at someone else s painting , but done in one of my own styles.
Anyways… enough Aarron babble. Prints can be had right here via Fine Art America.
