I do figure studies, sketching, and doodles mostly between my main projects as a sort of art therapy.
It helps me relax as I have no worry as to the outcome. Doesn’t matter if it is a successful piece or not… but it is always nice when it turns out cool.
In a way I enjoy a successful sketch, study or doodle more than a planned and thoughtfully executed work because it stands on its own without all the bells and whistles of a work meant for sale.
It is in a sense accidentally cool.
I did this one with oil pastels.
I very much enjoy working with oil pastels and find it a huge bummer that I can’t find the time to do it more.
Oil pastels for me are pretty much just for sketches and doodles.
A lot of rough drafts for paintings happen with them because they blend qualities of traditional painting with that of drawing in their way of handling and appearance.
Their eventual place however is usually the trash after I am done with them.
I may start saving them up though and am definitely going to start using them for my erotic sizzles.
