The title of this painting is “Wavering”

When I started this painting my working title was to be “unsure.”
Not saying I wasn’t sure, saying I was planning on calling it “unsure.”
(that sounded confusing)
I guess this could be considered one of my panties coming down paintings, but I’m not sure it fits visually as I was a bit more expressive with my paint than I have usually been when dealing with that subject.
Otherwise though, this painting is spot on the subject.
I’ve mentioned before how much can be said through body language when a girl removes those panties for the very first time in a potential sexual situation.
In this case what I was going for was that “unsure,” but wanting to moment.
She thinks she shouldn’t be doing what she is about to do. Guilt, the possibility of regret, a feeling of betrayal… mixed with a feeling of wanting to do it, and putting herself in a situation where she already feels committed to the act.
In her mind is a little battle. She has come this far, she wants to, but feels she shouldn’t. She feels she has committed to what is to come and will feel embarrassed to back out.
She may even fear never getting the chance again.
Yet… to go through with it is irreversible.
Once she does she can’t take it back.
She is wavering.
