The title of the poem is “I’d Grow Roses For You”
The art was done on 9″ high x 12″ wide paper with coffee and an ink pen.
A symbol of love they say is the rose.
Delicate scented blooms to convey I care for you.
Prescribed as Valentine’s gifts and for anniversaries I suppose,
conveniently bought and paid for is the symbolic rose.
Why on these days are such gifts expected?
Since when does money mean more than efforts?
Is it only on marked calendar days that love is requested?
Nothing symbolizing love should be bought and expected.
Yes, I’d give you roses in all sorts of colors.
I’d not buy a one, and there scent would be daily.
On pillows and in vases, and sometimes under the covers,
roses I had grown for you in all sorts of colors.
I’d grow roses for you because you’re my pleasure.
Never bought, but attended by my own two hands,
each rose grown just for you instead of whomever.
Everyday a rose for you because you’re a treasure.
